It has been a long and exciting school year, and now it’s coming to an end. In this portfolio I have all the work that I’ve done in my Photography class since the beginning of the year. Some of the work is edited by photoshop and some of it is just the pictures that we had to take. I learned how to use the camera and do all the things that I wondered about before. I really enjoy taking pictures but it’s not fun if you don’t know what your doing and your pictures aren’t turning out right.
I have tried to keep up with my portfolio and do my best with all of my pictures and responses. And I think I did a good job on keeping it the way it should be. I don’t really have a favorite part of it because I like the whole thing. All of my work I put myself into so I can’t really pick just one thing. But I’m really liking the quote project that we just got done with, It took me a while and I thought it through and I’m proud of it.
This year I learned about photoshop and the camera and many things about taking the picture and the settings you should have on for certain times. Macro was still one of my favorite things because I like weird textures and pictures up close. But a really cool thing to mess with was the shutter speed and ISO, the pictures that we took weren’t great but it just opens up the door to try new things later. Photoshop wasn’t easy, it took me a lot of time to remember the shortcuts and what everything does but after its pretty fun
The artists that Miss Cook has introduced to us this year have influenced me in one way or another. I learned that you have to find your style and go with it. Almost anything can influence you and give you ideas but you have to take what you see and make it your own. I feel like I’ve grown since the beginning of the year and have learned a lot of things from my teacher and classmates. I was really lucky to have a good and talented partner who helped me when I needed.
Overall this year was good, I learned a lot I got a bunch of awesome pictures that I’m going to keep forever and I plan on continuing with this portfolio. I will take everything I learned and go to new places and use that stuff to get great pictures. I had the best teacher and cool classmates I couldn’t have asked for a better photo class. All of the projects that we did were interesting and had points and made it meaningful to me. Time has flown by but all the things I learned will stay with me.
Thanks Miss Cook

Personal Metaphor "Uncle Who?"
When I thought of the metaphor for this project I was just thinking about what’s going on around me, and the world. We are on the brink of a depression and the government is in wars and in other countries helping them, but ultimately we have to take care of ourselves. We needed the money that the government spends on things that don’t help us. We owe other countries a lot of money that we have to pay for later on because this is what our country is leaving us.It turned out pretty much just the way I wanted. I wanted to have Uncle Sam being the puppet master and money falling all around me. The hardest part was getting the money to look good. It’s still not perfect but I had to re-do it over and over so that’s the best I could do. My favorite part is the bomb looking smoke and the dress that I put myself in. I think I did an ok job I just jumped right in and got everything done and I’m happy how it turned out.
